About us

The Russian Language Studio was founded by Angelina Zueva-Keller in 2011. Since then the school has provided Russian language training for more than 100 students. All teachers are Russian native speakers with a university degree in Slavonic Studies/Linguistics. They are fluent in German, English or French.

Angelina Zueva-Keller (management)

I gained my Master of Arts degree with a distinction in Teaching Russian Language and Literature and a distinction in English from the State Slavic Culture Academy in Moscow in 2003. I continued postgraduate studies at the Gorky Institute of World Literature at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow as well as at the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest. My research has focused on the representation of men and women in Russian literature and society. I graduated from CEU with a Master of Philosophy degree in 2007. From October 2010 until August 2011 I was working for the Swiss National Science Foundation as a researcher and a doctorate student at the department of Organizational Psychology at the University of St Gallen, Switzerland. Since 2008 I have been teaching Russian as a foreign language in Zurich. In 2011 I founded the Russian Language Studio, which also serves as a platform for exchanging knowledge about Russian culture and society. In July 2014 I became a prize-winner at the international competition “The Best Russian Language Teacher Abroad”, organized by the Russian Federation within the framework “Russian Language in 2012-2015”.

Lyudmila Schumacher

I graduated with distinction from Philology, Interpreting and Translation department from the State University of Saporoshje in Ukraine in 2004. During my studies I received the DAAD Scholarship and went to study Linguistics with a focus on Communication studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. I am currently studying for Master of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur (Specialisation in Professional Translation). Among other subjects offered by my department I am focusing on multilingualism, intercultural communications and plain language.

Since November 2014 I am registered in the list of Certified Court Interpreters of Zurich canton. In this function I am acting as an interpreter for the Russian, Ukrainian and German languages at courts, authorities and Canton police. I am looking forward to meeting you and to enable you a personal access to culture and language through my knowledge and competence. It is my aim to make your learning experience in a relaxing atmosphere as positive and productive as it can be.

I gained my Bachelor and Master degrees with distinction from the philological faculty of the Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University (Nikolayev, Ukraine) in 2010.

My area of expertise lies in the teaching of foreign languages and literature. I am delighted to tell you, that in 2010 I won the 1st place in the All-Ukrainian University Olympics in the discipline "German“. Back in my country, I have been working s a translator and an interpreter for Russian, German and English for international pharmaceutical companies until 2014. My teaching experience I have obtained in the Ukraine, where I taught Russian and German as a foreign language for adults. My passion is painting, creative writing, and Japanese. The meaning of words in different cultures as well as their translation into Russian, German or English occupies me every day.

I am looking forward to teach you the fascinating Russian words and language world by using my creative approach in the Russian Language Studio.
